Events Summer

The summer is a busy time in Centre County, with big events almost every weekend and many days in between. We'll list some of the events that draw visitors to hotels and restaurants and provide their general timeframe, but check the Visitors Bureau website (www.visitpennstate.org) for the complete list and calendar. 

Bellefonte Arts and Crafts Fair

Time: Middle of August

Location: Talleyrand Park, Bellefonte

Description: A festival bustling with arts and crafts vendors, live music, and free kids' activities.

Happy Valley Music Fest

Time: Early June

Location: Downtown State College

Description: Two days of great music from local, regional and national acts on five different stages around downtown State College.
 

Ag Progress Days

Time: Middle of August

Location: Pennsylvania Furnace

Description: Pennsylvania's largest outdoor agricultural exposition.

Transylvania Mountain Bike Race

Time: First weekend in June

Location: Rothrock State Forest

Description: Epic single-track and logging road mountain bike stage race.

Bellefonte Cruise

Time: Middle of June

Location: Bellefonte, PA

Description: Classic cars tour Bellefonte, celebrating a bygone era of cruising in meticulously maintained muscle cars.

Central PA 4th Fest

Time: July 4th

Location: Penn State Campus, Sports Fields

Description: One of the largest fireworks displays in the United States, with rockets timed to music. Carnival atmosphere and rides, musical performances, and concessions.

Central PA Festival of the Arts

Time: Second week of July

Location: Downtown State College and PSU Campus

Description: A huge festival of music and arts with hundreds of talented vendors set up to sell their creations. Multiple stages for performances of all kinds, from local dance troupes to national acts. Festival food, sand sculptures, big crowds.

People's Choice Festival

Time: Middle of July

Location: Pennsylvania Military Museum Grounds

Description: A large arts and crafts festival featuring vendors who are all from Pennsylvania along with live music and other performances, festival food, and free kids' activities.

Centre County Grange Fair Encampment

Time: Last week of August

Location: Centre County Fairgrounds, Centre Hall

Description: World's oldest encampment fair. 1,000 tents, 1,500 RV’s, over 7,000 exhibit items, amusement rides, livestock, tractor pulling, artists, craftsmen, cooks, bakers, and concessions. Big names in country music and comedy. It's a county fair like no other.
